Designing Tangible Conversations Between People and AI

I am Pritam, an interaction designer and educator with over seven years of experience across knitwear, textiles, fashion, and digital design. I started with fabrics, understanding how materials behave, how structure emerges from patterns, and how craft carries meaning. That foundation shaped everything I do now. Today, I work at the place where physical materials meet intelligent systems. My focus is simple: when AI makes a decision about your health, you should be able to feel why, not just read why. I design for that kind of understanding.

Based in Jaipur and trained at the National Institute of Design, I teach interaction design while building my own research practice around explainable smart textiles. I draw from years of working with yarns, weaves, and surfaces — things that respond to touch, not clicks. That background gives me a different way of thinking about AI. Not as something on a screen, but as something woven into the things we wear and live with. I like working with people who care about making technology honest and accessible, especially for those who never asked for it in the first place.
